The idea for Ready, Steady, Grow was born from the desire of Alex Booth, Iain Wetherell and Dean Bash to use waste from their main business (Booths Garden Studios), to run a bio-mass heater which could then help grow plants all the year round, with an emphasis on teaching how anyone can grow their own food, sustainably.   

The Upper Benefield site has been used for light industry for many years but is now being refurbished to be the main site for Ready, Steady, Grow.

As well as a purpose built eco greenhouse we will have show gardens and a small shop.

Many of the materials used in the building of the site have been recycled from industry and our biomass boiler will heat the buildings and greenhouse with waste wood. 

Growing your own food is a great way of eating well, getting more exercise and cutting down on our carbon foot print. We want to do as much as possible to help people succeed in gaining the skills to achieve this.

We will help build a community of people all growing and eating their own produce and support them on their journey.
